1. About These Terms
These Terms of Use govern registration, profiles, searches, private messaging, optional WhatsApp usernames, membership features, payments and all other use of Rishta.uk.
By registering, purchasing a membership or using Rishta.uk, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, you must not register or continue using the platform.
2. Purpose of Rishta.uk
Rishta.uk is a UK-focused Muslim matrimonial platform for adults who are genuinely seeking marriage.
The platform enables eligible members to:

-
provide information about themselves and their preferences;
-
search and view other member profiles;
-
communicate through private messages;

-
a mail-order bride or international marriage brokerage service;
-
a counselling, mediation or relationship-advice service; or
-
a guarantee of an introduction, engagement or marriage.
By registering, you confirm that you are genuinely seeking marriage and will not use the platform for casual dating, entertainment, sexual activity, exploitation or any other purpose inconsistent with genuine matrimonial introductions.
Members search for and communicate with other members themselves. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Rishta.uk does not personally select, recommend or guarantee compatible matches.
3. Eligibility
You may register only if you:

You must not register on behalf of a marriage bureau, commercial agency, paying client or another person without our written permission.
We may request reasonable information or evidence to confirm your age, identity, UK residence, telephone number, account ownership or profile details.
Failure to provide requested information may result in rejection, restriction, suspension or removal.
4. Registration and Account Security
You must register using your own identity and genuine contact details.
You must not:

-
sell, transfer, share or lend your account;

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity carried out through your account.
You must notify us promptly at info@rishta.uk if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
5. Profile Information and Photographs
Your profile must be truthful, appropriate and relevant to a genuine search for marriage.

location or nationality;
-
UK residence or immigration status;
-
occupation or education;

family circumstances;
-
health or disability information where disclosed; or

intentions concerning marriage.
Where you upload a photograph or other content, you confirm that:
-
it genuinely relates to you;
-
you have permission to use it;
-
it does not impersonate or misrepresent another person;
-
it is not explicit, threatening, offensive or unlawful; and
-
it does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright or other rights.
We may edit, reject or remove any profile, photograph or content that appears false, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful or inconsistent with these Terms.
Profile review or approval does not mean that Rishta.uk has independently verified every statement, photograph or document. Approval must not be treated as a guarantee of a member’s identity, honesty, intentions, compatibility, suitability or safety.
6. Member Conduct
Members must communicate respectfully and only for genuine matrimonial purposes.
You must not:
-
harass, threaten, intimidate or abuse another member;
-
pressure anyone to reply, communicate, meet, continue discussions or marry;
-
repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop;
-
bypass or attempt to bypass another member’s block;
-
send sexual, obscene, threatening or inappropriate content;

-
promote immigration fraud or a marriage of convenience;
-
send spam, bulk or automated messages;
-
advertise unrelated products or services;
-
operate as a marriage bureau or paid matchmaking agent;
-
collect, scrape, copy, publish, sell or misuse member information;
-
persistently contact members while knowingly failing to meet their clearly stated requirements;
-
engage in impersonation, fraud, scams, deception or exploitation; or
-
use Rishta.uk for any unlawful purpose.
Members must respect another member’s decision not to reply or continue communication.
7. Human Trafficking, Forced Labour and Exploitation
Rishta.uk must never be used to engage in, promote, facilitate, advertise, recruit for or assist:
-
human trafficking;
-
modern slavery;
-
slavery or servitude;
-
forced or compulsory labour;
-
forced marriage;
-
commercial sexual exploitation;
-
sexual exploitation or abuse;
-
prostitution or escort activity;
-
exploitation of children or vulnerable persons;
-
child sexual exploitation or abuse; or
-
any related illegal, coercive or abusive activity.
You must not recruit, solicit, transport, control, threaten, coerce, deceive or exploit another person for sexual, domestic, labour, financial, immigration or commercial purposes.
Suspected involvement may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
8. Required Contact Details
Members must provide a valid UK mobile or WhatsApp number and a valid email address when registering.
Rishta.uk may use these details where reasonably necessary for:
-
registration and account administration;
-
telephone-number or account verification;
-
security and fraud prevention;
-
moderation and member safety;
-
responding to support requests;
-
membership or payment administration; and
-
important service-related communications.
Your registered mobile or WhatsApp telephone number and email address will not be displayed or made available to other members by Rishta.uk.
These details may be processed or disclosed only where reasonably necessary, lawful and consistent with our Privacy Policy.
9. Private Messages and WhatsApp Usernames
Members may communicate through the private-messaging facilities provided by Rishta.uk.
Providing a WhatsApp username is optional. Where this feature is available, members may choose whether to add and display their WhatsApp username to other registered members.
Members may remove or hide their WhatsApp username through the available account settings.
A WhatsApp username is separate from the private mobile or WhatsApp telephone number provided to Rishta.uk for registration and administration. Rishta.uk will not display the registered telephone number to other members.
By choosing to display a WhatsApp username, you understand that other members may use it to contact you through WhatsApp. Rishta.uk cannot control, supervise or monitor communications taking place through WhatsApp or another external service.
Members may stop communicating at any time. Where the feature is available, members may block another person from sending private messages.
Members must respect another person’s decision:
-
not to reply;
-
not to display or share a WhatsApp username;
-
not to disclose personal information; or
-
not to continue communication.
Persistent unwanted contact, harassment, attempts to bypass a block or failure to respect another member’s communication preferences may result in restriction, suspension or permanent removal.
10. Sharing Personal Information
Members should share personal information only when they feel comfortable doing so, have made their own enquiries and have voluntarily decided that sharing is appropriate.
Personal information may include:
-
telephone or WhatsApp numbers;
-
email addresses;
-
home or workplace addresses;
-
social-media accounts;
-
identity or immigration documents;
-
financial or banking information; and
-
sensitive personal or family information.
No member is required to provide personal details, continue communication or meet another member.
Before providing a telephone number or other personal information, you should satisfy yourself that you are comfortable communicating with the other person.
Rishta.uk cannot control information voluntarily shared between members or how another person may store, copy, use or disclose that information afterwards.
You must not publish or share another member’s private information without permission, except where reasonably necessary to protect someone’s safety, obtain appropriate family support or comply with the law.
11. Nature of the Service
Rishta.uk provides technology through which members can create profiles, search and communicate with other members.
We do not guarantee:
-
that every profile is accurate or genuine;
-
that every member has disclosed all relevant information;
-
the identity, character, suitability or intentions of any member;
-
that suitable or compatible members will be available;
-
that messages will be received or answered;
-
that communication will continue;
-
that a member will share personal contact information;
-
that members will meet; or
-
any engagement, relationship or marriage.
Members and their families remain responsible for their own enquiries, communications, decisions, meetings and arrangements.
Once members begin communicating, all discussions, proposals, misunderstandings, disagreements, family discussions and relationship outcomes are matters between the members and, where applicable, their families.
Rishta.uk is not a party to those discussions and is not required to mediate, negotiate or resolve personal or family disputes.
12. Member Safety
Members must exercise reasonable care when communicating with or meeting another person.
We strongly recommend that members:
-
never send money to another member;
-
never disclose passwords, banking details or verification codes;
-
independently verify important information;
-
speak by telephone or video before meeting;
-
involve or inform a trusted family member or friend;
-
initially meet in a safe public place;
-
arrange their own transport;
-
avoid sharing sensitive information too quickly; and
-
report suspicious behaviour promptly.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Rishta.uk does not conduct criminal-record checks, financial checks or comprehensive background investigations.
Profile review or approval must not be treated as a guarantee of identity, honesty, suitability or safety.
13. Reporting, Blocking and Moderation
Members should report:
-
false, fake or misleading profiles;
-
impersonation;
-
harassment, threats or persistent unwanted contact;
-
sexual or inappropriate content;
-
scams or financial requests;
-
misuse of personal information;
-
commercial marriage-agency activity;
-
human trafficking or modern slavery;
-
forced labour or forced marriage;
-
sexual or commercial exploitation;
-
unlawful conduct; or
-
any other breach of these Terms.
Reports may be submitted through the website or by emailing info@rishta.uk.
Rishta.uk may review profiles, reports, relevant account activity and communications where reasonably necessary and lawful to:
-
investigate complaints;
-
protect members;
-
identify fraud, exploitation or misuse;
-
enforce these Terms;
-
protect the platform; or
-
comply with legal or regulatory requirements.
We do not continuously monitor every profile, message or interaction.
Following a report or concern, we may:
-
request information or verification;
-
issue a warning;
-
remove content;
-
restrict profile visibility or messaging;
-
suspend or permanently remove an account;
-
prevent further registration;
-
preserve relevant records where lawful; or
-
report suspected illegal activity to the appropriate authority.
Where a member provides fake, false, intentionally incomplete or materially misleading information, impersonates another person or seriously breaches these Terms, Rishta.uk may immediately suspend or permanently remove the account without prior notice.
We will take reasonable measures when concerns are reported, but cannot guarantee a particular investigation result or prevent every instance of misconduct.
We are not required to disclose confidential information concerning another member, an investigation or action taken.
14. Memberships and Payments
Some features may require payment.
Before purchase, the main features of the membership, its price, duration, billing arrangements and any automatic renewal will be displayed.
A paid membership may be:
-
a fixed, non-renewing membership; or
-
a recurring subscription where clearly stated before payment.
Where private messaging is included, payment is for access to the relevant platform features during the stated membership period.
Rishta.uk does not sell message credits and does not operate a pay-per-message or adult live-chat service.
Payment does not guarantee:
-
messages;
-
replies;
-
introductions;
-
compatibility;
-
engagement; or
-
marriage.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers, including Stripe. Rishta.uk does not normally receive or store complete payment-card details.
15. Automatic Renewal
Where a membership renews automatically:
-
this will be clearly stated before payment;
-
the renewal price and billing period will be displayed;
-
the selected payment method may be charged on each renewal date until cancelled; and
-
a reasonable cancellation method will be made available.
Members may cancel future renewal through any available account facility or by emailing info@rishta.uk.
Cancelling renewal normally prevents the next charge but does not end access already paid for during the current membership period.
16. Cancellation and Refunds
Consumers may have a statutory right to cancel an online membership within 14 days after the contract is entered into.
Where a member expressly requests immediate access during that period and begins using paid services, Rishta.uk may make any lawful and proportionate deduction permitted for services already provided.
Cancellation requests may be sent to info@rishta.uk.
Where a refund is legally due, it will be processed in accordance with applicable consumer law.
Subject to statutory rights, refunds will not normally be provided because:
-
another member did not reply or stopped communicating;
-
another member blocked the member;
-
a suitable member was not found;
-
an introduction was unsuccessful;
-
communication did not result in engagement or marriage;
-
a member changed their mind after accessing paid features;
-
expectations were not met;
-
the member did not use the available service; or
-
personal circumstances unrelated to Rishta.uk changed.
Where a paid account is restricted, suspended or terminated because of a material, serious or repeated breach of these Terms, access to paid features may end immediately and no refund will normally be provided for the remaining membership period.
This includes breaches involving:
-
fake or misleading information;
-
impersonation;
-
harassment or persistent unwanted contact;
-
fraud or financial scams;
-
sexual or inappropriate conduct;
-
exploitation;
-
prohibited commercial activity;
-
human trafficking;
-
modern slavery or forced labour;
-
commercial sexual exploitation; or
-
other serious or unlawful misuse.
Nothing in this section removes any refund or legal remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Any exceptional goodwill refund is discretionary and does not create an entitlement or precedent.
17. Suspension and Account Closure
Rishta.uk may reject, restrict, suspend or permanently remove an account where we reasonably believe that:
-
these Terms have been breached;
-
information supplied is false or materially misleading;
-
the member is not eligible;
-
the account presents a safety, fraud, legal, regulatory, payment or significant operational risk;
-
the member has harassed, deceived, threatened or exploited another person;
-
the account is being used for dating, sexual, commercial, exploitative or unlawful purposes;
-
the account is connected with trafficking, forced labour, forced marriage or sexual exploitation;
-
a payment is unpaid, reversed or disputed;
-
continued access would place members or the platform at risk; or
-
action is required by law, a regulator, bank or payment provider.
Serious cases may result in immediate action without advance notice.
Where appropriate, we may provide an opportunity to explain or correct a concern. We may withhold detailed reasons where disclosure could compromise another member’s privacy, platform security, an investigation or legal obligations.
Members may request account closure by emailing info@rishta.uk.
18. Member Content and Intellectual Property
Members remain responsible for profile information, photographs, messages and other content they submit.
By submitting content, you confirm that you have the right to use it and that it does not violate another person’s rights.
You give Rishta.uk limited, non-exclusive permission to host, store, display and process your content as reasonably necessary to:
-
operate the platform;
-
display your profile;
-
provide membership features;
-
investigate or moderate misuse;
-
protect members and the platform; and
-
comply with legal requirements.
This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where retention is reasonably required for security, fraud prevention, complaints, legal compliance or record keeping.
The Rishta.uk name, branding, website design, content and software are owned by or licensed to Rishta.uk.
Without written permission, members must not:
-
copy or reproduce the website;
-
scrape or extract profiles or member data;
-
distribute, sell or commercially exploit platform content;
-
interfere with or reverse engineer website systems;
-
advertise another marriage or dating service;
-
create profiles for paying clients;
-
use the platform for recruitment or lead generation; or
-
collect member information for marketing or commercial purposes.
19. Privacy and Legal Disclosures
Personal information is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Where reasonably necessary and lawful, Rishta.uk may preserve, process or disclose information to:
-
comply with a court order or legal obligation;
-
respond to a valid law-enforcement request;
-
prevent or investigate fraud, exploitation or illegal activity;
-
protect a person from serious harm;
-
enforce these Terms; or
-
protect Rishta.uk, its members and payment providers.
20. Third-Party Services and Website Availability
Rishta.uk may use or link to third-party services, including payment providers, hosting providers, security services and external communication platforms such as WhatsApp.
Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.
Rishta.uk is not responsible for the availability, security, content or conduct of independent third-party services, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
We aim to provide a reliable platform but do not guarantee uninterrupted, secure or error-free availability.
We may change, restrict, suspend or discontinue a feature where reasonably necessary for maintenance, security, legal, regulatory, payment-provider, operational or commercial reasons.
Where a change materially affects an existing paid service, Rishta.uk will provide any notice, cancellation right or remedy required by law.
21. Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:
-
death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
-
fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
-
statutory consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Rishta.uk is an introduction and communication platform. We are not responsible for statements, representations, conduct, decisions or omissions of individual members or their families.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rishta.uk is not responsible for:
-
dishonesty, misconduct or illegal activity by another member;
-
a member’s decision to communicate with, meet, trust or pursue another member;
-
messages that are not answered;
-
discontinued communication;
-
unsuccessful introductions or marriage discussions;
-
personal or family disputes and misunderstandings;
-
information voluntarily shared with another member;
-
communication through WhatsApp or another external service;
-
financial loss caused by another member;
-
emotional distress or disappointment arising from an introduction;
-
indirect or unforeseeable loss; or
-
events outside our reasonable control.
Rishta.uk is not required to mediate or resolve disputes between members or their families.
We remain responsible for losses that are reasonably foreseeable and directly caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill where the law requires us to be responsible.
The platform is provided for personal use. Rishta.uk is not liable for business losses, loss of profit, loss of opportunity or commercial interruption.
22. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms where reasonably necessary for legal, regulatory, safety, security, payment-provider or service-related reasons.
The current version will be published with its effective date.
Where a material change adversely affects an existing paid membership, we will provide any reasonable notice, cancellation right or refund required by law.
23. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
A failure or delay by Rishta.uk in enforcing a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
Members may not transfer their accounts or rights under these Terms to another person.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Consumers retain any mandatory rights available under applicable law and may be entitled to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom in which they live.
