ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

1. Purpose

Rishta.uk is intended only for genuine adults ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom who are seeking marriage.

This Acceptable Use Policy explains the conduct permitted and prohibited on Rishta.uk. It forms part of the Rishta.uk Terms of Use and applies to all accounts, profiles, photographs, private messages, WhatsApp usernames, content and other use of the platform.

Conduct that begins through Rishta.uk but continues through WhatsApp or another external service may also be considered where it affects the safety of members or the integrity of the platform.

2. Basic Requirements

To use Rishta.uk, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;

  • be ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom;

  • have a valid UK mobile or WhatsApp number;

  • have a valid email address;

  • be genuinely seeking marriage;

  • use your own identity;

  • provide accurate and current information;

  • communicate respectfully; and

  • respect other members’ preferences, privacy and boundaries.

Rishta.uk is not a dating, casual relationship, hook-up, escort, adult-content or sexually oriented service.

Uploading a profile photograph and displaying a WhatsApp username are optional.

Any photograph or WhatsApp username you provide must genuinely relate to you, be used with proper permission and must not mislead other members.

3. False or Misleading Information

You must not:

  • create a fake profile;

  • impersonate another person;

  • use another person’s identity, photograph, video or personal information without permission;

  • materially misrepresent your age, identity, marital status, location, nationality, UK residence, immigration status, occupation, education, family circumstances or intentions;

  • create an account for another person without authority;

  • create multiple deceptive accounts;

  • return through another account after being suspended or banned;

  • provide information that is intentionally incomplete or materially misleading; or

  • conceal relevant information for fraudulent, abusive or exploitative purposes.

Fake profiles, impersonation or serious misrepresentation may result in immediate and permanent removal without advance notice.

4. Harassment and Unwanted Contact

You must not:

  • threaten, intimidate, stalk or harass another person;

  • use abusive, degrading, hateful or discriminatory language;

  • pressure anyone to reply, communicate, meet, continue discussions or marry;

  • repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop;

  • attempt to bypass another member’s block;

  • contact someone through WhatsApp or another service after they have asked you to stop;

  • retaliate against someone who rejects, reports or blocks you;

  • deliberately contact members repeatedly while failing to meet their clearly stated requirements; or

  • make knowingly false or malicious reports.

Members may stop communicating at any time and may use the available blocking and reporting features.

5. Sexual Content, Impersonation and Intimate Images

Rishta.uk is not a sexually oriented dating, adult-content or adult-chat service.

You must not use Rishta.uk to:

  • seek casual sexual encounters or hook-ups;

  • offer, request, advertise or arrange prostitution, escort services or other sexually oriented services;

  • upload, create, generate, send, request, publish, distribute or share pornography or sexually explicit material;

  • send unsolicited sexual messages, photographs or videos;

  • solicit intimate photographs, videos or sexual content;

  • create, distribute or share non-consensual sexual content;

  • create, distribute or share intimate imagery of another person without that person’s clear consent;

  • threaten to publish, send or disclose intimate imagery;

  • engage in image-based sexual abuse, revenge pornography, sextortion or sexual blackmail;

  • impersonate another person for sexual, deceptive, abusive or exploitative purposes;

  • use another person’s photographs, videos, identity or personal information without permission;

  • create or share manipulated, digitally altered, AI-generated or deepfake sexual or intimate content depicting another person without consent;

  • promote adult entertainment or sexually oriented websites;

  • engage in grooming, sexual exploitation, sexual abuse or coercion; or

  • redirect members to adult-content, prostitution, escort or sexually oriented services.

Serious breaches may result in immediate permanent removal and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

6. Human Trafficking, Forced Labour and Exploitation

You must not use Rishta.uk to engage in, promote, facilitate, advertise, recruit for or assist:

  • human trafficking;

  • modern slavery;

  • slavery or servitude;

  • forced or compulsory labour;

  • forced marriage;

  • commercial sexual exploitation;

  • sexual exploitation or abuse;

  • prostitution or escort activity;

  • exploitation of children or vulnerable persons; or

  • any related illegal, coercive or abusive activity.

You must not recruit, solicit, transport, control, threaten, coerce, deceive or exploit another person for sexual, domestic, labour, financial, immigration or commercial purposes.

Suspected involvement may result in immediate permanent removal and referral to the appropriate authorities.

7. Fraud and Financial Exploitation

You must not:

  • request money, loans, gifts, investments or financial assistance from members;

  • promote cryptocurrency, trading, investment or financial schemes;

  • request bank-account details, payment-card details, passwords or verification codes;

  • create a false emergency to obtain money;

  • operate a romance, identity, immigration or financial scam;

  • offer, request or promote a sham marriage or marriage of convenience;

  • use the platform for money laundering or unlawful financial activity; or

  • redirect members to fraudulent websites, payment requests or services.

8. Messaging and WhatsApp Misuse

You must not:

  • send spam or indiscriminate bulk messages;

  • use bots or automated messaging tools;

  • send repetitive, deceptive or misleading messages;

  • advertise unrelated businesses, products or services;

  • collect contact details for marketing or commercial purposes;

  • charge another member for communication;

  • sell or purchase messaging credits through Rishta.uk;

  • operate a pay-per-message service;

  • misuse another member’s WhatsApp username;

  • use a WhatsApp username to harass, threaten, deceive or exploit another member; or

  • use WhatsApp or another external service to bypass a block or continue unwanted contact.

Payment for membership may include access to private messaging, but members are not charged separately for each message.

Rishta.uk does not operate a pay-per-message or adult live-chat service.

9. Agents, Bureaus and Commercial Activity

Unless Rishta.uk gives prior written permission, you must not:

  • act as a marriage bureau or paid matchmaking agent;

  • create or manage profiles for paying clients;

  • pretend to be an individual member while representing an agency;

  • advertise another dating, marriage or matchmaking platform;

  • recruit members for another service;

  • sell, exchange or disclose member information;

  • use the platform for recruitment, lead generation or commercial promotion; or

  • use member information for marketing or commercial purposes.

10. Privacy and Confidentiality

A member’s registered mobile or WhatsApp number and email address are private and are not displayed to other members by Rishta.uk.

Members may voluntarily display a WhatsApp username or privately share personal information where they choose to do so.

You must not:

  • publish another member’s address, telephone number, email address, workplace, WhatsApp username or private information without permission;

  • misuse or redistribute another member’s photographs or profile information;

  • share private messages publicly without a lawful and legitimate reason;

  • threaten to expose, embarrass, blackmail or intimidate another person;

  • obtain information through deception, hacking, scraping or unauthorised access;

  • record or distribute private communications unlawfully;

  • copy, store or share another member’s identity documents without a lawful reason; or

  • use information voluntarily shared by another member for harassment, fraud, exploitation or commercial purposes.

11. Illegal or Dangerous Activity

You must not use Rishta.uk to:

  • commit, encourage, promote or facilitate a criminal offence;

  • support terrorism or violent extremism;

  • exploit children or vulnerable people;

  • facilitate trafficking, abuse, violence or coercion;

  • threaten the safety of another person;

  • evade sanctions or legal restrictions;

  • distribute malware or harmful software;

  • interfere with the operation or security of the website; or

  • gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or information.

12. Technical Misuse

You must not:

  • scrape, crawl or systematically extract member data;

  • use bots or automated account-creation tools;

  • use automated tools to send messages;

  • attempt to bypass access controls, restrictions or security measures;

  • interfere with platform security or operation;

  • introduce viruses, malware or harmful code;

  • reverse-engineer the website or software where prohibited by law; or

  • use another person’s login details without permission.

13. Reporting Concerns

Members should report:

  • fake or misleading profiles;

  • impersonation;

  • harassment, threats or persistent unwanted contact;

  • sexual or inappropriate content;

  • non-consensual sexual content;

  • intimate imagery shared without consent;

  • deepfake or manipulated intimate imagery;

  • sextortion or sexual blackmail;

  • scams or financial requests;

  • misuse of personal information;

  • human trafficking or modern slavery;

  • forced labour or forced marriage;

  • sexual or commercial exploitation;

  • underage use;

  • unlawful conduct; or

  • any other breach of this Policy.

Where there is an immediate danger, suspected crime or risk of serious harm, members should contact the police or emergency services directly.

14. Investigation and Enforcement

Rishta.uk may investigate suspected breaches and may:

  • request information, clarification or verification;

  • issue a warning;

  • remove photographs, profiles, messages or other content;

  • restrict messaging or profile visibility;

  • temporarily suspend an account;

  • permanently close an account;

  • prevent further registration;

  • preserve relevant information where lawful and technically possible; or

  • report suspected unlawful conduct to the appropriate authorities.

Rishta.uk may immediately suspend or permanently remove an account involved in:

  • fake profiles or impersonation;

  • serious or repeated harassment;

  • fraud or financial exploitation;

  • human trafficking or modern slavery;

  • forced labour or forced marriage;

  • commercial sexual exploitation;

  • prostitution or escort activity;

  • non-consensual sexual content;

  • intimate imagery shared without consent;

  • image-based sexual abuse;

  • sextortion;

  • child sexual exploitation or abuse; or

  • any other serious, exploitative or unlawful activity.

Rishta.uk does not undertake to monitor every profile, private message, WhatsApp communication or interaction continuously.

Action may be taken without advance notice where reasonably necessary to protect members, Rishta.uk, payment providers or the public.

Rishta.uk is not required to disclose confidential information concerning another member, an investigation or any action taken.

15. Changes to This Policy

This Policy may be updated to reflect legal, safety, regulatory, payment-provider, security or operational requirements.

The current version will be published on this page with the updated date.
